Dr. Joseph Juran, a U.S. Quality Management pioneer, applied that principal on a broader basis to quality issues which became known as the principal of "the vital few and the trivial many".
This same principal can be applied to the amount of time we choose to spend in the gym. I tell people all the time that they do not need to spend hour upon hour in the gym. I know - I used to be one of those people.
Since switching to Turbulence Training in February 2008 I spend approximately 45 minutes, 3 times per week exercising. I'm also in the best shape I've ever been.
What does it take?
- 5-minute bodyweight warm-up
- 20-minute strength training that can be done in a gym or at home with dumbbells and an exercise ball
- 20-minute interval training instead of endless hours of cardio
The proof?

12 Responses to "Don't Live In The Gym - Turbulence Training Sweepstakes!"I am a fan of getting outdoors & even doing 15 min workouts at home and only circuit train outside incorporating cardio, strength, balance & flexibility in 30-45 min. I'm 42 and still 6.5% bodyfat. Wouldn't have it any other way. Also a fan of the Tabata Protocol http://livesmartbook.blogspot.com/2009/08/tabata-protocol-real-efficient-fat.html
Nice Post. I started us a new group on Blog Catalog called Change The World. Perhaps you would be interested in participating.
I'm in JB's Lean Eating Program and I'm looking for some structured plans to use after that comes to a close. I've heard good things about TT...so here I am hoping for a freebie!
The Turbulence Training for Women
8-Week Workout Program sounds like something I'd really want to try - here's hoping for a chance to win! Thanks Susan :)
Wow, I had no idea there were so many different workouts. I do love running and lift weights regularly but it is probably time to throw something totally different into the mix. I would go for TT for a busy gym or the Women's 8 week workout.
Interested in the six pack ab workout of course! The "half a keg of abs" is getting to be a bit too much to carry around.
I'm with Lori - had no idea there were so many choices!! So many look great and effective. Hmmm...maybe TT 2K9 or TT March Madness Circuits or TT Women 8 week. Thanks for posting great options Susan!!
Thanks for offering this TT Sweepstakes, Susan! If I won, I'd opt for the TT Reconstruction Workout Program for two reasons:
1. Everyone keeps telling me I NEED some reconstructing! (Hmmm?)
and
2. My eyes glow red like Craig B's after every workout!
The last TT workout I bought was a couple of years ago...I know CB's stuff is top-notch, so I would love to win the Terminator, I mean, Turbulence Training Reconstruction Workout Program.
And if I don't...no to worry:
"I'LL BE BACH" ( and you can be Mozart...)
Take care, Suz!

I'd like to try out the TT for Women 8-week workout. I've enjoyed having a variety of shorter programs to implement in the past. Finishing a program like that lends to that feeling of accomplishment ("I may not have seen much progress on the scale, but I did complete the program!").
Hi, I'd love to give the TT for Amazing Lower Abs workout a try! My lower abs has always been a problematic area for me. When I work out my abs, I am able to see results in my upper abs, however there is often no change in my lower abs! I would love to see if Craig's killer exercises can help me finally build definition in my lower abs! :)
The Turbulence Training for women 8 week workout is probably what I'd go for but really all three of the specifically for women packages look like great options. Thanks for the chance to try one out.
So many of the Turbulence Training workouts look great and I'd love to try all of them! If I had to narrow it down to one (or at least the next one) I'd start with the 15 pounds of muscle in 8 weeks workout. Craig has a solid approach that I really appreciate.
I've used several TT workouts, but the one that I'm currently interested in is the TT for a Busy Gym (aka “TT 2K6”). Mondays at my gym are sometimes so busy I can't even grab a weight bench!
